Factory 42

Lost Origin is a boundary breaking experience combining immersive theatre, cutting edge mixed reality and state-of-the-art interactive technologies to forge new ground in live performance.

My role within this production was the handling and creation of all the 2D animated elements in Gerals cave, that told the story of her childhood and how she became a paleontologist. Creating 2D character animations that were projected onto the cave walls and shadowbox minature sets.

Welcome to lost origin

This unique experience was only achieved by working in such a big team of multi disciplined creatives, from story writers and theatre coordinators to the in house 3D/AR animation team.

That’s where my role was situated most of the time, creating 2D animation and illustration assets that were used on 3D models or on the interactive projected animations using the 3D depth sensors.

Outside of this area, I created puppet style animations of Geral as a child that where projected onto shadowboxes using short throw projectors to tell her childhood story and assisted with the general graphic design of the shows. Creating the ‘Wing 7’ ident, animations and visuals for the screen and anything that required that 2D design knowledge.
